Charles Keating was a model for a portrait session at Sherrie McGraw’s studio in Arroyo Seco, NM. He is a fascinating fellow. A respected anthropologist, he has served as an advisor on energy policy to New Mexico’s governor and has traveled globally in pursuit of his eclectic interests. Charles lives “off the grid” and had ridden his bike 12 miles to the studio this day, including being struck by a car in the process. I gave him a lift back to Taos at the end of the day, and he returned the favor by giving me this exclusive pose.
