Charles

Taos, New Mexico

Charles is a rather legendary figure in this northern New Mexico community. He is a talented archeologist whose work has taken him all over the world. He has served as an advisor to the Governor of New Mexico on energy issues, as well as being involved in energy policy discussions at national and international levels. Charles has lived almost exclusively “off the grid” for decades. The day of this sitting in Sherrie McGraw’s studio in Arroyo Seco, he rode his bicycle out from Taos – was struck by a car en route – but gladly joined us as the model for the day. He became a good friend to Kathi and me during that time and regaled us with many stories of his adventures.
