Randy Lukasiewicz

Farwell, Nebraska

Historian, Humanitarian, Explorer

Randy would have to be high on the list of nominees for “the most interesting person in the world,” for he is both personally intriguing and interested in the broadest array of subjects. He is an expert on old-time baseball, as well as much of small town Nebraska sports history. But, he also engages deeply in rural community vitality, Native American spiritual ways, the life of Nebraska legend John Neihardt, and other elements of High Plains culture. Randy is fundamentally curious about people who do things he finds notable, and has built a broad network of friends who love and respect him for just being the indefinable “Randy.” I captured this look in a drawing session at Red Path Gallery when he spent an afternoon modeling for me.
