Madeline Jackson Krotter Schroeder

Wyoming pioneers, MY elder

“You hold me up, higher than an eagle. You are the wind beneath my wings”

While born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Madeline Jackson spent much of her upbringing with her pioneering extended family in northern Wyoming. Her experiences with the environment, horses, Native Americans, community service, the chasm between those living with wealth and those in poverty, shaped her world view for the rest of her life. Encouragement of others softens my mother’s face as she sought to always see the positive in all those she met and in every situation. She passed on this wisdom quietly but with the strength of steel, wavering not an inch as life handed out challenge after challenge.
